The Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) published photos of the visit of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, which took place on September 13.
Judging by the pictures, Kim Jong-un personally gave Sergei Shoigu a ride in his new Mercedes-Maybach 4MATIC, the price of which is more than $ 200,000.
For the first time, the North Korean leader’s new car was photographed in August 2024. It is not known what the demonstration of the Mercedes-Maybach to Sergei Shoigu is connected with, because Kim Jong-un could have met the former Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation in a Russian Aurus limousine.
The Aurus limousine was presented to Kim Jong-un by Russian President Vladimir Putin in February 2024. Later, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the North Korean leader liked the Russian car.
The import of expensive cars, such as Mercedes-Maybach, to the DPRK is prohibited by UN sanctions.
