The UK government has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia.
This time, the main targets of these sanctions are Russian private military companies and military suppliers.
These sanctions will directly affect the supply of goods to the Russian military, said the UK government.
Among the companies sanctioned are those from Estonia – Virmavia OÜ, Kazakhstan – Kazstanex LLP and Rabadaziya LLP; China – Jinhua Hairun Power Technology Co. and Xin Quan Electronics (Hong Kong); Redlepus TSK Vektor Industrial (Shenzhen).
In addition, several Russian private military companies have also been sanctioned, including PMC Espaniola, founded by football fans and hooligans. The PMC includes fans of Russian football clubs Zenit, Lokomotiv, Orel, Spartak and Torpedo, as well as CSKA.
In addition, the UK has added Russians Evgeny Kopot, Alexander Kuzin, and Evgeny Hodotov to the sanctions list, as well as the Russian organization “Commonwealth of Officers for International Security”, who are allegedly involved in the activities of Wagner PMCs in the Central African Republic.
Denis Sergeev, a Russian citizen, was also added to the sanctions list. In March 2021, the British police identified him as part of an investigation into the poisoning of Sergei Skripal, an ex-GRU officer, and his daughter, Yulia, with Novichok. According to police reports, Denis acted under the alias of Sergei Fedotov.
