Canada imposes new sanctions on Israeli settlers

Canada has imposed new sanctions on Israeli settlers. The organizations that are already on US sanctions lists have also been sanctioned.

“Extremist settler violence has resulted in loss of life and damage to Palestinian property and farming lands. These attacks have also resulted in the forced displacement of Palestinian communities. Attacks by extremist Israeli settlers – a long-standing source of tension and conflict in the region – undermine the human rights of Palestinians, prospects for a two-state solution and pose significant risks to regional security,” Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated

Tne ministry said that Israeli nationals, including Neria Ben Pazi, Noam Federman, Eden Levy and Shlomo Said, were sanctioned, as were two legal entities, the Mount Hebron Fund and Shalom Asiraich.

These legal entities had already been on US sanctions list since April 2014 due to collecting tens of thousands of dollars for extremists who were responsible for destruction of property, attacks on civilians, and violence against Palestinians.
