EU launched a free service to help with compliance with sanctions

The European Commission has launched a free online service to assist small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in complying with sanctions.

The service, called the EU Sanctions Helpdesk, is free for companies. It provides direct, personalized assistance from an expert team to help companies conduct sanctions due diligence.

To access the assistance desk, a company needs to submit a request through an online support system.

The assistance team can provide information about whether the counterparty in a transaction is sanctioned or under the control of a designated person, as well as whether the goods or services involved are subject to EU restrictions. Experts can also provide guidance on how to ensure compliance with these restrictions for end users.
