Hungary achieved the lifting of sanctions against Russians

Hungary has achieved the lifting of sanctions against several Russians.

The Official Journal of the European Union published official data on the removal of EU sanctions from several Russian individuals and companies.

Excluded from the list of sanctioned individuals are:

  • Mikhail Vladimirovich Degtyaryov (Михаил Владимирович Дегтярёв), Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation;
  • Vladimir Valerievich Rashevsky (Владимир Валерьевич Рашевский), former CEO of EuroChem Group;
  • Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor (Вячеслав Моше Кантор), Israeli-British-Russian entrepreneur;
  • Gulbakhor Ismailova (Гульбахор Исмаилова), sister of Alisher Usmanov, founder of USM Holding.

Mikhail Degtyarev wrote on the VK social network: “I was included in the EU sanctions list 11 years ago, in July 2014, as one of the first deputies of the State Duma for humanitarian assistance to children of Donbass and the opening of the DPR representative office in Moscow. So the news of their removal came as a surprise, especially since my political position has not changed in all this time. I believe that all restrictions against Russia, its citizens and companies are absolutely illegal. Russia has the right to defend its national interests, including in sports. And we will do this under the leadership of our President, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. I thank the Hungarian side for its consistent political position on the protection of Olympic values.”
