Lithuanian Customs fines two companies for violating sanctions

Lithuanian Customs has drawn up protocols on violations of international sanctions against two companies registered in the country. Both companies were fined 10,000 euros each.

According to the Customs Department, the companies provided services for temporary storage, registration of customs documents, representation at customs and declaration of goods produced by Russian companies included in the list of sanctioned legal entities. The goods are shipped from Russia – carbon black and isoprene rubber.

Carbon black is used for the production of automobile tires. About 7 billion tons of carbon black will be needed to produce 1.5 billion tires. In addition, carbon black is required in the production of rubber products, plastics, printing inks, coatings, and paper.

Isoprene rubber is also used for the production of automobile tires.
