Lithuanian customs detained the driver of a truck in which three Toyota Land Cruiser were hidden in the trailer. The cars were covered with boxes of toilet paper.
On August 10 morning, an Uzbek national arrived at the custom and said he was carrying a batch of 720 kilogram toilet paper.
However, when customs officers checked the vehicle using X-rays, they found contraband in the semi-trailer. After a thorough inspection of the trailer, which was stacked with boxes of paper and chipboard on the sides, three cars were discovered.
The driver was surprised by the discovery and claimed he had no knowledge of the cargo’s contents.
The destination of the contraband vehicles is unknown, but Lithuanian customs have repeatedly detained high-end vehicles that were supposedly imported for buyers in Belarus but were actually delivered to Russia bypassing sanctions.
