Poland has detained 5 tons of tires for Boeing aircraft, which were apparently being transported to Russia, bypassing sanctions.
The Polish National Revenue Administration (Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa, KAS) announced the detention of a truck in the village of Kroshin near the border with Belarus, the driver of which was transporting tires used in Boeing civil aircraft instead of declared automobile and bus tires.
Transit of such goods through the territory of Belarus and Russia is subject to sanctions in accordance with Council Regulation No. 833/2014.
The sender of the goods was a company from Spain, and the recipient was from Azerbaijan. A criminal case has been opened into tax fraud.

After the outbreak of war in Ukraine in March 2022, Boeing suspended major operations in Russia, including providing parts, maintenance, and technical support for its customers. Since then, Boeing has moved all engineering work to the US and other global sites.
Currently, Russian airlines continue to operate about 200 Boeing aircraft.
