Poland imposed sanctions against the Belarusian businessman Alexandr Mashensky

The Ministry of the Interior and Administration of Poland has imposed sanctions on Alexandr Mashensky, who is “associated with the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko,” according to the Interior Ministry.

Alexandr Mashensky is the owner of Savushkin Product, one of the largest dairy producers in Belarus and Santa Bremor, a fish processing giant.

According to the Polish Ministry of the Interior and Administration, these companies are associated with the state and use preferential tax treatment in the Brest Free Economic Zone. Santa Bremor imports frozen fish and caviar through Klaipeda port, and its activities in Russia have been facilitated by the Belarus authorities.

In addition to his fishing business, Alexander Mashensky has received from the Belarusian government the raw material base for his dairy business. The state owns almost all of the agricultural land in Belarus, including the raw materials. As a result, private entrepreneur Alexandr Mashensky created Savushkin Product. Thia company acquired a raw materials zone consisting of 92 collective farms.

In 2010, Alexandr Mashensky openly supported the presidential campaign of Alexander Lukashenko. He also took part in the “secret inauguration” in 2020, despite mass protests following the falsification of presidential election results. Lukashenko included Mashensky in his informal team, according to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
