The The Ministry of the Interior and Administration of Poland has added Firn M LLC (ООО “Фирн М”), based in Moscow, and the Mark Innovation Company (ООО “Инновационная Фирма “Марк”), as well as FIRN EU sp. z o.o., registered in Warsaw, to the national sanctions list.
Firn M was founded at the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1989 and is engaged in the development and production of medications based on interferon alpha-2. Its founder is Innovative Mark Company, headed by co-owner Ilya Markov (49.17%). FIRN is a subsidiary of the Mark Innovation Company.
The Ministry argued that Firn M, the Mark Innovation Company, and Ilya Markov, were providing assistance to Russian military personnel and supporting the Russian non-governmental organization, Mars-Mercury.
Mars – Mercury was formed on October 30, 1992 by reserve officers of the General Staff, the Political Directorate of the Navy, and other law enforcement agencies in Russia.
