Musk denies gifting Tesla Cybertruck to Russian general Kadyrov

Elon Musk, an investor and CEO of Tesla, denied a report that he had presented the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, with a Tesla Cybertruck electric car. This suggestion was made by the popular columnist, Seth Abramson.

On the social network X, Elon replied to Abramson, “Are you seriously so r******* that you think I donated a Cybertruck to a Russian general? That’s amazing”

Ramzan Kadyrov posted a video of the Tesla Cybertruck on August 17, with a heavy machine gun mounted on the vehicle.

At the same time, he did not say that the car was a gift from Elon Musk. Instead, he said, “I express my sincere gratitude to Elon! He is the strongest genius of our time and a true expert.”

In the USA, a Tesla Cybertruck costs $93,990, and it cannot be officially purchased in Russia. However, private sellers offer the car for at least 17.73 million rubles, or about $199,437.

According to the advertisements of car sellers, Tesla Cybertruck is supplied to Russia through the port of Vladivostok. At the same time, the supply of cars worth more than 50,000 euros to Russia is prohibited by EU sanctions.

Ramzan Kadyrov has been the head of Chechnya as part of Russia since 2007. He holds the military rank of colonel general. Ramzan Kadyrovs name is included in the sanction lists of the European Union, U.S., U.K. and Japan.
