The Rotterdam District Court announced the verdict in the case of the supply of aircraft parts to Russia

The Rotterdam District Court found an employee of the Ministry of Defense guilty of violating EU sanctions against Russia. The court sentenced the accused to imprisonment for 300 days, with 195 of these days suspended, and also prohibited him from managing legal entities for three years.

The accused founded a company in Serbia with his partner in June 2022, who also founded a company in Turkey. Together, they used these companies to sell spare parts for aircraft to countries such as Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, and the UAE, although these parts eventually ended up being supplied to Russian companies through intermediaries.

“The suspect, together with his accomplices, was guilty of violating European sanctions legislation. He also knowingly and intentionally participated in activities aimed at circumventing the prohibitions of the European Union by using sanctioned aviation components along new routes. The suspect seriously undermined the purpose and scope of European sanctions for the sake of economic gain,” it says in the materials of the court.
