UK has imposes sanctions on the sons of Russian officials

The UK Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) stated that the government has extended the UK sanctions list by adding five new designations under the Russian sanctions regime.

According to the OFSI’s statement, these individuals and entities have been designated as being subject to sanctions:

  • Artem Yuryevich Chaika, who is the son of former Russian general prosecutor Yuri Chaika and owns the First Non-Metallic Company (PNK), which has 17 crushed stone plants in its holding.
  • Pavel Mikhailovich Fradkov, the son of a former Russian prime minister and currently serving as Deputy Minister of Defence.
  • Vladimir Viktorovich Selin is the Director of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control of Russia. The FSTEC ensures information security in state information and telecommunication infrastructure systems. One of its tasks is to counter foreign technical intelligence in Russia.

  • LLC Rosatom Additive Technologies is a subsidiary of Rosatom State Corporation that brings together scientific and industrial enterprises in the nuclear industry to design and produce equipment, powders, components, and software. It also provides services related to additive technologies.
  • JSC Kirov-Energomash started producing turbines for nuclear power plants in 2023. Since then, it has been part of the Rosatom group.
