The UK government has added 135 oil tankers to the sanctions list, which, according to the country‘s authorities, are part of the Russian “shadow“ fleet, and have delivered oil worth $24 billion since the beginning of 2024.
INTERSHIPPING SERVICES LLC, responsible for registering ships of the Gabonese–flagged “shadow“ fleet, and LITASCO MIDDLE EAST DMCC, a company affiliated with the Russian oil company Lukoil, have been also sanctioned.
“New sanctions will further dismantle Putin’s shadow fleet and drain Russia’s war chest of its critical oil revenues. As Putin continues to stall and delay on serious peace talks, we will not stand idly by. We will continue to use the full might of our sanctions regime to ratchet up economic pressure at every turn and stand side by side with Ukraine,” said Foreign Secretary David Lammy/
