US hits with sanctions the suppliers of Iran’s nuclear program

Department of the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on Iran’s nuclear program.

The US officials have added to the sanctions list five organizations and one individual, including the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and its subsidiary Iran Centrifuge Technology Company (TESA), which manufactures centrifuges used for uranium enrichment.

Iran-based Atbin Ista Technical and Engineering Company (AIT) assists TESA in purchasing components from foreign suppliers, and Iranian citizen Majid Mosallat has been sanctioned and is the Chairman of the Board and Managing Director at AIT.

Another company added to the list, Pegah Aluminum Arak Company, produces aluminum products for TESA.

“Treasury will continue to leverage our tools and authorities to disrupt any attempt by Iran to advance its nuclear program and its broader destabilizing agenda,” said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.
