US imposed sanctions on Iranian gas magnate

The US has imposed sanctions on Iranian gas magnate Seyed Asadollah Emamjomeh.

The Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on Iranian liquified petroleum gas (LPG) magnate Seyed Asadollah Emamjomeh and his corporate network for seeking to export thousands of LPG shipments to evade US sanctions and generate revenue for Iran.

Emamjomeh and his family have been using Iranian and UAE-based companies to sell and transport LPG for more than a decade, and they have used Caspian Petrochemical FZE, Pearl Petrochemical, Worldwide LPG Limited and other companies based in Iran and the UAE.

According to the OFAC’s statement, LPG continues to be a major source of revenue for the Iranian regime. The proceeds of this funding fund Iran’s nuclear and advanced conventional weapon programs, as well as the regional proxy groups and partners, such as Hizbollah, the Houthis and Hamas.
