The United States lifted sanctions against Antal Rogan, an official from the office of Hungarian Prime Minister Orban, which were imposed only in January 2025 for his involvement in corruption.
The page with the January message about the imposition of sanctions has also been deleted from the website of the US State Department.
During his time as a government official, including as minister in charge of Orban‘s cabinet office, Rogan reportedly organized schemes designed to control strategic sectors of the Hungarian economy. Minister Rogan played a central role in creating a system in Hungary that benefited him and his party at the expense of the Hungarian people, U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in January.
