The United States has lifted sanctions on individuals associated with Russia.
On March 13, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury removed the following individuals from the sanctions list:
- Imre Laszlozki, a Hungarian citizen and graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), who was sanctioned by the U.S. in 2023 under Executive Order 14024 on sanctions against Russia. At the time, he served as the Vice President of the International Investment Bank (MIB) in Budapest.
- Gilad Piflax, an Israeli citizen and a native of Tashkent, is the son of Max Borisovich Piflax, a businessman residing in Uzbekistan and the director of Mateas Limited. The father and son were associated with a network of sanction-evading companies led by Igor Vladimirovich Zimenkov, a Russian arms dealer residing in Cyprus.
- Lidiya Korzhavina and Yuri Korzhavin, who were sanctioned by the U.S. in May 2024 as co-owners of the Russian company Elfor TL, which was sanctioned a year earlier. In the fall of 2024, the Korzhavins exited the company’s capital.
