The US, UK, and Australia have imposed sanctions on Russian cybercriminals, including the company Zservers and its employees.
Zservers provided hosting services and support for attacks by LockBit, a ransomware group based in Russia that was responsible for attacks against Australian Medibank Private in 2022 and the Industrial Commercial Bank of China broker-dealer in November 2023.
Zservers, headquartered in Barnaul, Russia offered hosting services with servers based in Russia, Bulgaria, Finland, and Netherlands.
Except Zservers, the US has imposed sanctions on its two managers: Alexander Igorevich Mishin, and Aleksandr Sergeyevich Bolshakov.
The Australian government has added another three Zservers employees in the sanctions list: Ilya Sidorov, Dmitriy Bolshakov and Igor Odintsov.
The UK has imposed sanctions on another one individual: Vladimir Vladimirovich Ananev.
“We will continue to work with our international partners to impose costs on cyber criminals and protect Australians from cyber threats,” said Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong.
