Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against the former oligarch and MP

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees No. 94/2026 and No. 95/2026 on February 2, according to which national sanctions were introduced against former Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash and former Verkhovna Rada deputy Taras Kozak.

“It is still a long time before the beginning of a full-scale Russian aggression, these individuals chose Russia for themselves, and therefore the war. We will continue to oppose each such subject,” Zelensky said.

Dmytro Firtash owns assets in a number of European countries. These included gas distribution companies, banks, TV channels, and more.

Zelenskyy called Taras Kozak an associate of former oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk.

Media companies associated with Taras Kozak were also added to the sanctions list by the decision of Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Ariadna TV, Leader TV, Novy format TV, Novosti 24 hours, Partner TV, TV Choice, 112-TV TV, Novye kommunikatsii TV and radio company.
