Zelenskyy imposes personal sanctions on the former President of Ukraine

On February 12, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 81/2025 on the imposition of personal sanctions. The decree was published on February 13.

The decree banning flights, transit, and transportation through Ukraine was published on February 13, 2021.

Five people were added to the list of those sanctioned by the Ukrainian government. These individuals have been deprived of their state awards and have had their assets in the country frozen.

These individuals have been sanctioned:

  • Petro Poroshenko (Порошенко Петро Олексійович), a former president who led the European Solidarity Party from 2014-2019. In February of this year, he announced that he had received 15 summonses from the State Bureau of Investigation.
  • Ihor Kolomoiskyi (Коломойський Ігор Валерійович, Kolomoyskyi Ihor, Kolomoisky Igor) is a billionaire currently under arrest.
  • Hennadii Boholiubov (Боголюбов Геннадій Борисович, Bogolyubov Gennadiy, Bogoljubov Gennadij) is an ex-co-owner of PrivatBank.
  • Kostiantyn Zhevaho (Жеваго Костянтин Валентинович, Zhevago Kostyantyn), a billionaire. He left Ukraine after being accused of embezzling $113 million from the Finance and Credit bank;
  • Viktor Medvedchuk (Медведчук Віктор Володимирович), a former Ukrainian politician. On April 12, 2022, he was arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine and handed over to Russia as part of an exchange of prisoners of war for soldiers from the Azov Regiment.
