Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland have decided to strengthen the controls of EU sanctions against Russia

Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia have signed an agreement aimed at strengthening the implementation of EU sanctions on Russia.

The agreement emphasizes the need for uniform enforcement of the sanctions, information sharing, and coordinated actions to combat illogical transportation routes. It also provides for measures to be taken against manufacturers and exporters who fail to provide additional documentation.

“With the Agreement we signed today, we want to demonstrate to other states and companies the importance of close cooperation for effective enforcement of sanctions, and to do our part to improve the effectiveness of sanctions,” said Sami Rakshit, director general of Finnish customs.
