Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Ville Tavio leads a trade mission to Almaty and Astana in Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Tavio will emphasize the importance of cooperation in preventing circumvention of sanctions during his visit.
The visit of 17 Finnish companies to Kazakhstan is supported by Eastham Finland, which previously was known as the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce, but changed its name after the Russian attack on Ukraine in 2022. EastCham Finland is an expert organisation that provides member services to nearly 600 member companies.
“The visit led by the Minister is important for promoting access to the Kazakhstan market. We are travelling with a select group of companies representing top expertise in sectors important to Kazakhstan, such as mining, energy, construction, water, the environment, forestry, logistics and education,” said Jaana Rekolainen, CEO of EastCham Finland.
