Latvia has imposed personal sanctions on Russian actor Pavel Priluchny and television presenter Ekaterina Andreeva.
The Latvian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braze, has taken a decision to add these individuals to the list of persona non grata and bar them from entering the Republic of Latvia indefinitely.
According to the minister’s statement, these individuals are linked to “the aggression unleashed by Russia against Ukraine and its territorial integrity in 2014, as well as the unprovoked and unjustified full-scale military invasion of Ukraine”.
Ekaterina Andreeva is a famous Russian TV host. On July 8th, 2022, in support of the war against Ukraine, she was added to Canada’s sanctions list for facilitating and supporting Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine. On October 19th, she was also added to Ukraine’s sanction list because she spreads narratives in line with Kremlin propaganda to justify Russia’s actions.

During the filming of the TV show “Closed School”, Priluchny met Latvian-born actress Agata Muceniece, who was born in Latvia. In February of 2019 they announced their separation.
