Polish officials inspect the company WSK Poznań by components for Iranian drones

The Polish company WSK Poznań Sp. z o.o has stated that the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the export of its products to Iran.

The management of WSK Poznań has claimed that this investigation is being conducted by the Internal Security Agency.
On July 18th, 2024, Polish radio Zet published an article hinting that WSK supplies components for military drones to Iran, including Shahed 136, which is also known as Geran-2 in Russia. The Russian Army uses these drones in Ukraine.

Nowadays, the export of EU-made components to Iran used in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles is prohibited due to sanctions.

WSK Poznań is a manufacturer of diesel engine injection pumps used in agricultural tractors.

“These pumps are not technically adapted to power aircraft engines due to their weight. The company has introduced internal control procedures for potential customers, including careful checking of each potential counterparty, the purpose of ordered goods, and current sanctions. In the event of exports outside the EU market, WSK Poznan Sp. z. o.o. requires potential clients to submit an end-user declaration,” the company stated.
