The British Embassy in Tashkent has trained Uzbekistan officials on compliance with sanctions

The British Embassy in Tashkent (the capital of Uzbekistan) reported it had trained Uzbekistan official and the private sector on compliance with the UK and international sanctions.

“This training follows a high level joint visit by senior UK, EU and US sanctions officials in November last year. This week’s event reflects the UK’s commitment to providing ongoing assistance to tackle this issue,” – reported the embassy.

The training was delivered by UK law firm Fieldfisher. Fieldfisher has offices in 26 countries and a focus on financial services, energy and life sciences.

The Republic of Uzbekistan is situated between the rivers of Amudarya and Syrdarya and occupies 448,9 thousand square km. The span of the territory from the west to the east is 1,425 km and from the north to the south — 930 km.

Uzbekistan is the former soviet republic. Uzbekistan gained independence on August 31, 1991 in the difficult political and socio- economic conditions.
