The Italian authorities have seized the assets of a Russian businessman worth 41 million euros. The assets belong to Alexei Fedorychev, a Russian national, Italian Corriere TV noted.
The Italian Financial Guard claims that the seized funds are the result of illegal reinvestment of income. The arrest was made at the request of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office in Kiev, Ukraine.
According to the statement of the Financial Guard, the seized assets include shares worth 3,000,000 euros and four properties worth almost 38,000,000 euros.
Corriere TV channel reports that the businessman is currently in Monte Carlo.
Alexey Fedorychev was included on the Ukrainian sanctions list for shipping coal with his ships from the Donetsk region, which was occupied by Russia. Fedorychev is engaged in the trade of raw materials and owns several marine cargo terminals.
In 2006, Forbes magazine included him in the list of the richest businessmen in Russia, taking the 100th place, and his fortune is estimated at $ 450 million.
