On February 5, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued two orders, No. 67/2025 and No.68/2205, imposing sanctions.
Order No. 67/2025 sanctions 57 individuals, mostly Russian citizens. Mohseni Ali is an Iranian citizen who is one of these individuals.
SanctionsLists have checked the taxpayer identification numbers of the sanctioned persons. Most of them do not appear to be the founders or heads of legal entities, so they may be connected to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Order No 68/2025 imposes sanctions on 55 individuals and three museums: the State Museum-Preserve “Tauric Chersonese”, the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Eastern Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum Reserve”, and the State Budget Institution of the Crimean Republic “Central Museum of Taurida”. of the museums subject to sanctions are located in Crimea.
Sanctions were mainly imposed against museum staff and historians, and the director of the Hermitage Museum (one of the largest museums in the world, located in St. Petersburg) is on the list Mikhail Piotrovsky and Andrey Polyakov, Director of the Institute of the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Mikhail Piotrovsky is the father of Boris Piotrovsky, the deputy governor of St. Petersburg who oversees internal policies in the city.
