EU removed two Russians from the sanctions list

The European Union has removed two Russians from the sanctions list

The EU has published data on the removal of Pavel Ezubov (Павел Eзубов) and Konstantin Zavizenov (Константин Владимирович Завизенов) from the sanctions list.

Pavel Ezubov is a cousin of Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska. On June 25th, the Court of Justice of the EU overturned the decision of the Council of Europe to extend sanctions against Ezubov, which had been issued in 2022. The sanctions were imposed because he was Deripaskas’ cousin, who owned Russian Machines, a military-industrial conglomerate.

Konstantin Zavisenov was the former Minister of Fuel, Energy and Coal Industry in the so-called People’s Republic of Luhansk, a part of Ukraine occupied by Russia. In 2024, he was found dead on the territory of his home near Moscow. According to media reports, Zavisenkov committed suicide.
