The Latvian State Security Service (VDD) has asked the prosecutor’s office to open a criminal investigation against two Latvian citizens who provided prohibited project management services to companies registered in Russia in violation of EU sanctions.
During the investigation, it was found that these two citizens owned shares in a Russian event management company that organized at least five events (forums) in Moscow between 2022 and 2025.
The State Security Service does not disclose the name of the company.
