EU sanctions delayed German supplies to a Russian defense company by just a month

EU sanctions have delayed the supply of equipment from Germany to a Russian defense company for only a month.

The Arbitration Court of the Sverdlovsk region (Russia) ruled on the dispute between JSC Ural Design Bureau Detal and LLC Adgitek-Ural. The dispute involves EU sanctions and supplies from Germany.

Detail, according to the data on the job search website, is one of the leading enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex. Detail produces more than 80 different radio altimeters and radio altimeter systems, which are installed and used on almost all types of aircraft of JSC RAC MiG, JSC Sukhoi, JSC Ilyushin Aviation Complex, JSC Tupolev, JSC Yakovlev Design Bureau, JMil Moscow Helicopter Plant, JSC Kamov, JSC Tactical Missile Armament Corporation.

In March 2023, Detal and Adgitek-Ural signed a contract in the amount of 79.5 million rubles. Adgitek-Ural was supposed to supply measuring equipment from Germany for Detal no later than November 9, 2023*.

However, deliveries were delayed and were fully completed by mid-December 2023.

Adgitek-Ural explained the delay by the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia in mid-2023.

After that, Detal demanded payment of a penalty from Agitek-Ural. The dispute between the companies went to court. As a result, the court decided to collect a penalty of 2.47 million rubles from Agitek-Ural.

* According to the agreement, the following equipment was supplied from Germany: SMB100A signal generator with options SMB-B140, SMB-B1H, SMB-B32, SMB-K23, SMB-K21 – 2 pcs.; RTM3004 digital oscilloscope with options RTM-B243, B6, Kl, K2, KZ, K5, K5, K7, K15, K37, K31, K36, PK1, RTZP05S probes (5 pcs.) – 1 pc.; Step attenuator 8494V, 8496V with option 11716A1 pcs.; Spectrum analyzer FSW67 with options FSW-B2001, K7, K40, K60, K60N – 1 pc.; Step attenuator RSC-Z675 – 1 pc.).
