A new car supply channel to Russia has been blocked in Germany.
In Dresden, German customs announced the confiscation of the property of a German and Moldovan citizen who is suspected of supplying at least 236 cars worth 18.86 million euros to Russia in violation of current EU sanctions (cars over 50,000 euros are prohibited from being sold to Russia).
In May 2025, a 41-year-old man was searched, but it was not possible to prove that the suspect had knowingly exported cars to Russia.
After additional investigation, permission was granted to freeze assets worth more than 16.5 million euros, including seven BMW, Porsche, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz cars with a combined value of 595,000 EUR, 49,150 EUR in cash, and applications for tax refunds of 556,000 Euros.

In addition, mortgage loans totalling 3.5 million Euros were registered for three properties owned by the accused.
