A participant in the “spy scandal” is demanding the lifting of EU sanctions?

The European Union’s court has opened a case, T-862/25, which was filed on December 16, 2025. The applicant is Visa Nokhayevich Mizaev (Виса Нохаевич Мизаев. Tax Identification Number (INN): 481101523410) , a Russian citizen who is seeking the lifting of EU sanctions.

The European Union imposed sanctions on Mizaev, who currently resides in Moscow, in December 2024.

At the time, the European Union stated that the sanctions were imposed on “16 individuals and three organizations responsible for Russia’s destabilizing activities abroad.”

Mizaev’s wife, Olga Belyavtseva (Ольга Алексеевна Белявцева. Tax Identification Number (INN): 481100083621) , was also included in the sanctions list.

According to the EU, Mizaev and his wife “played a key role in a Russian intelligence operation against the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) in which highly classified information was passed to the FSB.”

Mizaev currently holds the official status of an entrepreneur in the real estate industry in Russia.

His wife, Olga Belyavtseva, is better known. According to Forbes, her net worth is estimated at $750 million.

Belyavtseva owns several companies, including Agro-Sad, a company engaged in apple cultivation with a land area of approximately 5,400 hectares.
