Ukraine sanctions Russian propagandists and the grandson of Charles de Gaulle

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has imposed sanctions on Russian propagandists and the grandson of Charles de Gaulle.

On September 20th, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed three decrees imposing sanctions: Decree No. 694, Decree No 695 and Decree No696.

Those who are considered to be involved in human rights violations in Crimea, including Ekaterina Mizulina (director of the Safe Internet League), Alexander Rogers (Ukrainian-born blogger) and Pierre de Gaulle (French citizen and grandchild of former French president Charles de Gauille), have been added to the sanctions list. Previously, Pierre de Gaulle had stated that he and his wife wished to move to Russia and acquire Russian citizenship.

Ukraine also imposed sanctions against 11 Moldovan public and political figures who “promote pro-Russian narratives.” Among them are Dmitry Konstantinov, who heads the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia (a region in Moldova), and Evgenia Gutsul, the head of Gagauziya.

In total, the three orders signed by Volodymyr Zelensky contain data on 83 individuals and 13 legal entities.
