UK sanctions the largest Russian oil company

The UK has imposed sanctions on the largest Russian oil company.

On October 15, the British government imposed sanctions on 5 individuals and 35 entities associated with Russia, including companies from Dubai, Thailand, Singapore, and China.

Among the Russian companies that have been sanctioned are large oil companies and banks.

For example, sanctions have been imposed on Russia’s largest oil company, PJSC Oil and Gas Company Rosneft. The company’s revenue for the first half of 2025 amounted to 4,263 billion rubles, and its net profit was 245 billion rubles (about 2.5 billion euros).

JSC Oil Company LUKOIL, which accounts for about 2% of global oil production and about 1% of proven hydrocarbon reserves, has also been added to the sanctions list.

Among the Russian banks sanctioned: PJS SCBP PRIMSOTSBANK, JSCB Transstroybank, CJSC Solid Bank, BBR Bank.
