Will the co-owner of Ozon or his partner be sanctioned by the EU?

On December 18, 2025, the Amsterdam District Court published a decision on the dispute between the Rotterdam-registered companies C Management and C Teleport with Leta Capital from the Cayman Islands.

C Management is the main shareholder of C Teleport company. Leta Capital is also a shareholder of C Teleport. In 2022, the company invested 2 million euros, receiving a share of 7.84%.

According to the court, one of the ultimate beneficial owners of Leta Capital is [name 2] (this wording is indicated in the case file). Management demanded the withdrawal of voting rights on shares owned by Leta Capital.

The court’s decision contains the following phrases: “C Management and C Teleport base their claims on the following: C Teleport has been in an acute financial crisis since July 2025, caused by Leta Capital and [name 2]. [Name 2] was involved in a number of questionable transactions indicating a violation or evasion of sanctions. These transactions relate to companies that are, were, or are operated by sanctioned Russian individuals. Therefore, there is a risk of including [name 2] in the EU sanctions list.”

After reviewing the case, the Amsterdam court decided to suspend voting rights on shares owned by Leta Capital.

SanctionsLists.org does not know who exactly is hiding in the case file under the code [name 2]. However, it is known that the founder of the Leta Capital venture fund is Russian businessman Alexander Chachava (Alex Chacava, Александр Чачава). In the media, he is called the co-owner of the Russian division of the IT holding Yandex, as well as the owner of a 27.7% stake in Ozon, one of the largest online marketplaces in Russia.

On December 19, 2025, Sanctions Lists sent requests through Mr. Chachava’s personal website and a form on the Leta Capital website. Unfortunately, there was no reaction. If we receive a response, we will definitely publish it.
