Sweden is tightening its control over anti-Russian sanctions

Swedish customs has joined the Baltic Customs Agreement, which was signed by Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania in 2024. Later, Poland, Finland, Croatia, and Denmark joined the agreement.

According to the document, the customs authorities of the participating countries are strengthening their control over goods subject to EU sanctions and require the submission of a document or information issued by the manufacturer of the exported or re-exported goods, known as a manufacturer’s declaration, to the customs authorities.

The customs authorities may also require additional documents to prevent the import of goods into Russia in violation of the sanctions.

The logo of the agreement was designed by the Lithuanian customs authorities.
